Solomon Airlines to operate charter flights between Guangzhou and Honiara

With the approval of the Solomon Islands Government, Solomon Airlines will operate two private charter flights between Honiara and Guangzhou on 1 and 2 September.
The Airbus A320 services will transport approved foreign nationals and bring home stranded Solomon Islands citizens.
All passengers travelling on the flights have been approved by permission of the Prime Minister’s Office. Every passenger will be subject to strict COVID 19 requirements including providing proof of negative COVID 19 testing prior to boarding, in accordance with Government regulations.
The charter operation will first operate from Honiara to Guangzhou on Tuesday 1st September returning again from Guangzhou to Honiara on Wednesday 2nd September. The aircraft will stop briefly in Biak, Indonesia, in both directions for fuel, with no passengers or crew disembarking the aircraft.
On Thursday 3rd September, flight IE601 will return from Honiara to Brisbane, departing 12.00pm and arriving 2:15pm. Limited seats will be available on this service to those who have the relevant approvals to stay or transit in Australia, and subject to Border Force and quarantine requirements.

All Solomon Airlines charter and repatriation flights comply with the COVID-19 regulations and requirements of the relevant countries. Solomon Airlines crew wear facemasks and gloves for duration of service and catering is minimal to reduce contact between passengers and crew.
