- More convenient direct services to Munda and Gizo
Solomon Airlines has announced changes to the airline's domestic flight schedule to cater to higher demand for weekend services.
The changes, effective from today include more convenient direct flights from Honiara to Munda and from Honiara to Gizo and return, providing passengers with greater travel options.
“In support of our local tourism operators and residents needing a weekend escape, we have made adjustments to our Monday and Friday schedule to allow for greater direct frequency on weekends,” said Manager Commercial Colin Sigimanu.
“Our team is also working with our tourism partners on the next phase of our 'Helpful Holidays' campaign offering great value packages for those needing a break. We look forward to releasing those details very shortly,” he said.
Effective from 18 May, Solomon Airlines will offer separate direct return flights from Honiara to Munda and from Honiara to Gizo every Monday and Friday. Currently no domestic flights operate Saturdays and Sundays, as announced with the schedule reductions in April.
Solomon Airlines has currently suspended international flight operations, with the exception of occasional Government approved charter and cargo services.
The airline continues to fly to all 23 domestic destinations in the Solomon Islands domestic network.
