Solomon Airlines to operate private charter flight between Guangzhou, China and Honiara

Solomon Airlines has confirmed its Airbus A320 aircraft will operate a Government approved private charter flight between Guangzhou and Honiara on 1 February 2021.

GUANGZHOU-HONIARA 1 FEBRUARY

The international aircraft will first operate as a ferry flight on 31 January, flying empty from its Brisbane base via Biak, Indonesia to Guangzhou. 

The aircraft will then operate a passenger charter flight from Guangzhou via Biak to Honiara on 1 February.

Two negative PCR COVID-19 tests, the first 14 days prior to departure, and the second no earlier than 72 hours prior to departure are required to be accepted for boarding. All passengers will enter mandatory quarantine for a minimum of 14 days on arrival and be subject to further multiple COVID-19 tests.

HONIARA-BRISBANE 2 FEBRUARY

Following Government approvals, the airline has been approved to carry limited passengers on its return to Brisbane.

On 2 February, Flight IE700 will depart Honiara at 11.00am, arriving in Brisbane at 1.15pm.

Passengers on this flight must have right of entry to Australia or be transitting onward to other international destinations. Facemasks must be worn in all airports and for the full duration of the flight.

All Solomon Airlines flights comply strictly with the COVID-19 regulations of the relevant countries. Solomon Airlines crew onboard the airline’s A320 aircraft wear facemasks and gloves for the duration of service and catering is minimal to reduce contact between passengers and crew.
