Solomon Airlines to operate further repatriation flight from the Philippines to Solomon Islands

Solomon Airlines has confirmed the airline will operate a further Government approved repatriation flight next week, to bring more stranded citizens home from the Philippines to Solomon Islands.

The airline’s Airbus A320 aircraft will depart empty from Brisbane via Biak to Manila on 23 November to collect the passengers, returning to Honiara the next day. The repatriation flight will operate as follows:

24 November – Flight IE629 Manila-Biak-Honiara will depart Manila at 7.15am arriving in Biak for a fuel stop only at 11.35am. All crew and passengers will remain onboard the aircraft. Flight IE629 will then re-depart from Biak at 12.35pm arriving in Honiara at 5.20pm.

As a Solomon Islands Government managed repatriation charter flight, passengers seeking to travel on the service should contact their nearest Solomon Islands Government embassy or mission for details.

All incoming passengers will have taken three COVID-19 tests in the 21 days before the flight. They will only be allowed to board the plane if all three tests are negative for COVID-19. On arrival in the Solomon Islands, all travellers will undergo a mandatory 21-day quarantine period and a further three tests which must all be negative before they can be released from quarantine.

All Solomon Airlines flights comply fully with the COVID-19 regulations of the relevant countries. Solomon Airlines crew onboard the airline’s A320 aircraft wear facemasks and gloves for the duration of service and catering is minimal to reduce contact between passengers and crew.
