Posted on September 02, 2024 at 08:14 AM in General News

Solomon Airlines, in partnership with the Excellence in Information Technology, recently concluded a successful two-week training program for 38 staff members. Held at Panatina Campus, the initiative focused on upskilling employees from various departments including Finance, Commercial, Engineering, Cargo, HR, Domestic Operations, International Traffic, OCC and Reservations.

The training was facilitated by Excellence in Information Technology, an institution founded through a collaboration between the Solomon Islands and the Indian Government. The program aimed to equip staff with valuable knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote, enhancing their proficiency in essential office software and computer techniques.

“This training serves as both a refresher and an opportunity for upskilling, allowing our staff to maintain high performance in the workplace,” said Monica Utukana, HR Manager at Solomon Airlines. “It’s crucial for our employees to continuously develop their IT skills to improve work efficiency and productivity.”

The comprehensive training also offered staff the chance to deepen their understanding of basic computer components and terminology while mastering the use of word processors, spreadsheets, and presentation software. On Friday 30th September, 38 staff members received certificates of completion presented by Solomon Airlines CEO, Sean Teo, and Excellence in Information Teleology Director, Pappu Kapgate. This achievement marks another step in Solomon Airlines’ commitment to staff development and operational excellence, aligned with the national carrier five-year strategic plan.
