Solomon Airlines helps National Netball squad fly high

Solomon Airlines has added its support to Solomon Islands National Netball Training squad and Ms Bernadine Manuia, Team Manager, who departed today on flight IE700 from Honiara to Brisbane, Australia.

The National Netball Training squad are taking part in a seven-day program on Queensland’s Gold Coast where they will receive mentor coaching from an Australian coach as well as playing high-level trial games against semi-professional franchise teams and other Pacific national teams. 

The group which travelled, included Ms Bernadine Manuia, Team Manager, along with eight members of the Solomon Islands National Netball Training squad and Assistant Coach Ms Beglen Wa'ahero.

“When we heard of the National Netball Training squad’s plan to attend a seven-day mentor, coaching and training program at the in Gold Coast, we were only too pleased to assist,” said Solomon Airlines CEO Gus Kraus.

“This is a very valuable opportunity for our team members to brace themselves in preparation for the Sol2023 Pacific Games, “he said.

“We want to encourage them to learn as much as they can and to take advantage of this is excellent opportunity to gain experience playing against some of the top teams in the region,” he said.

“Sol2023 is a very significant event for us all, to highlight our country, our airline and our capability to international visitors and media.

“As Solomon Islands national carrier , we are proud to play our part in many ways, to ensure the success of the Pacific Games, from assisting our athletes and teams to be ready, through to the efficient movement of personnel, organizers and officials, and resources for the staging of the games in Honiara,” he said.
