Posted on October 28, 2024 at 04:32 AM in General News

Solomon Airlines has partnered with Plusgrade to introduce an innovative upgrade bidding system titled ‘Solo Upgrade’, providing passengers the opportunity to secure Business Class seats through a flexible bidding process. This new feature allows Economy Class passengers to bid for unsold Business Class seats, offering a chance to enjoy premium travel at an additional personalized price.

As part of Solomon Airlines’ commitment to digital transformation and automation, this partnership aligns with the airline’s strategic plan to enhance the customer experience through cutting-edge technology. The automated bidding system offers flexibility, giving passengers more opportunities to access Business Class, while maximizing the value of available seats.

"We are thrilled to partner with Solomon Airlines to launch Solo Upgrade, empowering their passengers with more choice and flexibility in their travel journey," said Ken Harris, founder and CEO of Plusgrade. "This partnership demonstrates Solomon Airlines' commitment to digital innovation while creating new revenue opportunities through the strategic optimization of their premium cabin inventory. We look forward to delivering value to both Solomon Airlines and their passengers through this initiative."

Passengers can place their bids for an upgrade after booking their flights, with a simple three-step process:

Select Your Bid: Choose how much you are willing to offer for a Business Class upgrade on each flight.
Enter Payment Details: Submit your payment information, which will only be charged if your bid is successful.
Submit & Review: Confirm your bid and receive a confirmation email, with the option to modify or cancel your offer before the deadline.

Successful bidders will enjoy the full suite of Business Class benefits, including:

  • Priority check-in, boarding and baggage handling
  • 40kgs checked baggage allowance
  • Airport lounge access where available
  • Premium meal and beverages
  • Spacious and comfortable seating

While all Business Class amenities are available with the upgrade, the fare conditions of the original ticket, remain unchanged.

Solomon Airlines views digital transformation and automation as key drivers of its strategic growth. This partnership with Plusgrade demonstrates the airline’s dedication to offering passengers more control, flexibility, and a personalized travel experience.
