Solomon Airlines’ Airbus A320 is currently grounded in Nadi, Fiji. This is primarily due to an electrical fault identified by engineers’ yesterday morning. The aircraft was due to return from Nadi on Sunday but was unable to do so. This has also impacted other flights such as IE700 from Honiara to Brisbane (scheduled for Sunday afternoon) and IE701 from Brisbane to Honiara (scheduled for Monday morning).
The airline wishes to advise the public that replacement parts have been secured from the United States and are awaiting delivery details to Nadi for a fix to be completed.
Assistance has been acquired from Nauru airlines to service the IE701 and IE700 flights. New timings are as follows:
IE701 (delayed) BNE-HIR 1800-2200 (Monday evening)
IE700 (delayed from Sunday) HIR-BNE 2300-0115 +1 (ETA Tuesday morning)
Rescheduling for IE703 (NAN-VLI-HIR) will be advised later.
The airline says that there will be no charges/fees for refunds or additional costs for rerouting as desired by the passengers.
