In a move to steadily grow inbound tourism to Solomon Islands Western Province, Solomon Airlines has announced new year-round special fares offering up to 25% off flights from Brisbane and other Australian gateways to Munda, or via Munda to Suavanao, Seghe or Gizo.
The fares are part of a broader campaign in partnership with Tourism Solomons to promote awareness of Solomon Airlines exclusive Brisbane to Munda direct route, and encourage tourism to Solomons Islands Western Province and beyond.
Solomon Airlines recommenced flights from Brisbane direct to Munda on 6th January, 2024, following an extensive upgrade of the Munda International Airport. The route opens a second international gateway to Solomon Islands offering new opportunities for tourism development to the Western Province.
Visitors from Australia, Europe, Asia and USA can now fly via Brisbane direct to Munda entering Solomon Islands and clearing customs at Munda International Airport before exploring popular Western Province tourism destinations, or travelling beyond to picturesque Isabel Province.
“We are offering an attractive incentive to reach the Solomon Islands a new way, via our Munda international gateway,” said Napoleon Padabela, Solomon Airlines CEO (Acting).
“By offering these special fares on our Munda-Brisbane direct flights, we are effectively offering flights to any of our most popular holiday destinations – Munda, Suavanao, Seghe or Gizo - for the price of a return flight to Honiara,” he said.
Solomon Airlines Special Fares to Munda are available year-round for one way or return travel, subject to availability, on international tineraries which include Flight IE715 booked as part of the journey.
“The Munda gateway serves as a convenient entry point to key tourism destnations in our Islands Western Province, including Marovo Lagoon, the largest saltwater lagoon in the world and Gizo, both renowned for natural beauty and cultural heritage,” said Mr Padabela.
Solomon Islands Western Province offers world-class activities above and below the waterline, from diving and surfing, to sports fishing and birdwatching, and WWII history, attracting visitors from around the world.
